Storm Damage!

First of all, if I am not commenting on your blog lately, don't be offended, PLEASE!!! My computer is acting really odd and I can't get the comments to open on some of your blogs. I will try to get this corrected so I can be back to letting you know how much I enjoy hearing about your lives!

Monday night was crazy, crazy, crazy!!! We spent the majority of the night at the neighbors up on the hill. He has a storm cellar and believe me, I think we almost needed it! We live in tornado alley and I think that tornadoes are some of the most awful things I have ever dealt with! Thank God that we have never been in the middle of one and that the hand of the Lord has always been upon us during the times that the storm comes. His hand was also upon many others Monday night who were either spared from the storm, as well or were protected from it's grip. Even when lives are taken, we must rest in the fact that HE is in control and HE has a perfect will. It's hard to think of that when you are running for shelter with your babies screaming and wind sucking at you and rain pouring down with the distant sound of a train whistle roaring in your ears. But, we did pray and our Lord provided. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for sparing us from the storm and keeping us safe.

My mom and dad were with us and so was my older sister and family. That was a relief. Charlie's mom was about 30 minutes away in the path of the storm, as well. Charlie's Dad was about 45 minutes away at a church meeting. He made it home safely and Charlie's brother, Billy stayed with Mom until Dad could get home and the storm had passed. So, all of our family is safe and we are so thankful to God for that!

Anyway, just wanted to update you on that. Please pray for those who had either minor or major damage from the storms. We may not make the national news but the damage is still devestating to those who live here!

Love to all,
Julie

I'm glad you are all okay. Mom was just telling me about this on the phone. I went through something similar last year except with no parents or sister and no cellar on the hill...lol. It is a very hairraising experience. All you can do is pray and put your faith in the Lord and it sounds like you did a good job of that. Glad my babies are safe..and everyone else too of course...lol.

I was thinking about you monday night. We barely missed the big storms that went through your area, although we got a bad one later that evening, it didn't do any damage, just a lot of wind and rain. I had the radio on, and it sounded really bad. I'm glad you guys are okay.
