If we build it...it will come!!

We are praying for snow here!! If it is going to be this stinkin' cold (around 5 degrees tonight) WE WANT SNOW!!!! Sorry, ya'll that are used to below zero temps..I have seen 5 degrees maybe twice in my entire life so I am a wimp!!! 30 is FREEZING to me...and we hardly ever get snow.

So, I found this cute craft! Try it for yourself and show it off! I will try to take pictures and post them sometime later.

homemade gifts....

Some of our gifts (well, most of them) are homemade this year!! I thought I would share a few with you!

This is the girls' gift along with shoes, tights, leotards & headbands, the whole ballerina ensemble! They will be so excited when they open these on Christmas morning! I am praying we get these done....if we do, I will post pictures for you.

Charlie is also making the girls a stove for Christmas and it is super cute! (It kind of looks like this one, minus the clock but now I am thinking maybe we could add one??? lol ) I wish I had a stove like that when I was a little girl....they also are getting all the "stuff" to go with it, rolling pins, baking sheets, aprons, etc.!!

Drew is getting a painted canvas for his room and a cool shelf to put all of his tractors on! The kid already has so many but he will be a collector just like his Daddy! :)

Fun Fall Stuff...

Here are a few ideas for all of you Mom's!! Some cute crafts for Fall and some other ideas. I will add more as I get time, right now I have to post this really quick and then start school and then it's off to do errands....ah, a day in the life!

Here you go:

Fall Crafts

My favorite pumpkin bread recipe

and, our favorite (somewhat healthy) cookies:

Julie's Logwoods cookies: (called this because it's Charlie's coworkers most requested cookie) :)

2 sticks butter, softened
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 T. (that's Tablespoon) vanilla
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup a.p. flour
1/4 tsp.salt
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups coconut
1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup finely chopped walnuts

In large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugars until creamy and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla beating after each addition. In a seperate smaller bowl, combine the dry ingredients and slowly add to the creamed mixture. Next, add the coconut, choc. chips and nuts just until combined. Place on ungreased cookie sheets (I line mine with parchment paper) and bake at 35o for app. 12 minutes or until lightly brown.

There you go! Hope someone can use these and enjoy them this Fall! (now, off to start my crazy day!)

In LOVE with this....

These adorable little dress patterns found here!! This one is called Miss Lily but it's not available until April? , I think? However, I am already planning on getting it and a couple of others: the Miss Madeline & the Miss Molly, which are available NOW!!! :)
Also, as a side note, because you know how much I LOVE baby names, I have to say that she has beautiful taste in names!! (Claire was almost Madeline at one time & Lily was almost Molly) ...........................
Anyway, just had to share these with ya'll; I know that some of you sew and are pretty good at it, too!! Thought you might enjoy these. :)
Have a great Wednesday!! It's icy & COLD here & in a few minutes I am off to get necessary supplies!! Stay warm, everyone!
Love,
Julie
