what you can, what you have, where you are

"Do what you can with what you have, where you are." Teddy Roosevelt

I have spent the last two weeks trying to accomplish a list of things that I am carrying around in my mind. However, as usual, life has gotten in the way. I want to paint the inside of our home; my husband's paychecks have been smaller due to weather so no money to buy paint right now. I want to buy winter clothing that we desperately need; again no money to do that. I want to get my home cleaned immaculately, like it hasn't ever been before, yet, every time I get started I have to stop and deal with a temper tantrum(not always my child's, lol.) or someone calls or I have to deal with things that are not really my responsibility but they get put off onto me. I have been feeling bitter and resentful because of these things that are building up that I need to get done and I don't have the time or the resources to take care of them. I saw this quote today and oh, how it struck home to me!

I am in a season of my life. It's a good productive and fruitful season. It's a season of raising future Esthers. Of raising daughters of the King. Of being the wife to an amazing man who needs a calm and peaceful wife. The home will be cleaned in it's own due time and we will not die because there is some clutter. It does not have to look a certain way or be painted a certain color for my kids to be comfortable here and my husband to find it a peaceful place to be.

If all of the Fall activities I have planned do not get done, it's okay. Life goes on. My girls will remember most of all being with Mama and Daddy and being happy. And that's what is important to me today. And always. Teddy Roosevelt reminded me that "what I can do, where I am, and what I have" is just fine to my family and that's all that matters.

Have a very Thankful Thursday,

Julie

Amen my dear friend. Being together as a family is all that really matters, sharing time and love. Dust will wait, but children will grow up, you cannot stop that from happening. Bless your family always. I love you.
