Be still....

I've written on this before, here. I just wanted to say thank you for the sweet comment from the Abrams Family. I know God is teaching us something through all of this. I had just taken my focus off of that for awhile and decided to focus on self pity, instead! Thanks so much for the gentle guidance back to the cross. My focus should be on what HE can do and what HE is doing through us. I shouldn't even worry or even try to justify worrying about our tomorrow.

So, today, I am much better. We still haven't left to go to my sister's. Charlie worked here yesterday!! Yay!! and I am packing to leave in an hour or so as he worked here for a few hours this morning.

We are heading out to visit the family. Hope you and yours have a wonderful fun weekend with your children, whether you do fall festivals/carnivals (our personal way of celebrating) or whether you go trick or treating.....have a safe and wonderful weekend!!

Fashion Friday finds...

I may have to make a run to Target, soon!! I had a pair of Wal-Mart ones(by the way, much cheaper made and not really comfortable) but a lighter color and Charlie hated them so I gave them away!! :( But, they were so fun to wear with jeans and some skirts. So, now I am in the market for a new pair of knock off Uggs (because there is NO way I am paying UGG prices!!!)

So, they have MANY different colors at Target and they are $29, not bad!!! :) If you find any cheaper with a decent looking sole (the WM ones have a crappy sole)...let me know...

and I am loving this cute sweater dress and this dress (LOVE this price, too, $24.50!!!) from Old Navy.. both would be darlin' with tights and boots...(got these links from Big Mama last week and I am just drooling over these dresses!!!!)

operation treat bag is ....SUCCESS!!!!

We handed out treat bags last night to area kids . We gave away ALL of the bags and met A LOT of nice people! They seemed really happy that we were giving away the candy and that they had a safe place to bring their kids to get candy! One lady kept saying, "This is so nice that a church is giving out candy and I know it is safe". And a lot of little kids were excited because the treat bags were in their words, "awesome"! One little boy said, "you don't just give away a little candy, you guys give away A LOT of candy; SWEET!" and thanks to having young nephews and nieces, I know that SWEET is the word that means we did REALLY good! =)

It felt good to see all of the smiling faces and our youth interacting and meeting new friends, hopefully! We did not do this to get people to come to our church, although that would be nice! We did this to serve. Think about that for awhile. I think all too many times we are to focused on "getting them in church" (which don't get me wrong, we should focus on that) but in the process of getting them "saved" or "forgiven" or "baptized" or "in the church" we forgot to find out who they are. We forget that Jesus called us to SERVE as well as to spread the gospel. What are your thoughts? Do you get what I am saying? Just something I have been thinking about a lot lately.

Anyway, we had a great time! And wonderful fellowship with our brothers and sisters, as well!

This is really warm, too! I LOVE this jacket, I may buy one in at least 2 more colors, haha! Well, maybe just one! =) Claire needed a new coat, as well, so I purchased the light pink one for her which has a hood. It was also $15. What a steal!! Just wanted to share my savings with you! =)

Claire's Tinkerbell Costume

We have been SUPER busy around here this week! First of all, I have to share that I found Claire's tinkerbell costume at Goodwill for $1.99!!!! The VERY SAME one that is $29 through Disney!!! So, I am VERY excited about that!!! (more on the Goodwill trip at a later date!) I also found Drew's pumpkin costume at Goodwill for $1.99!!! =)

We are making BOO bags to take to family and friends this weekend and some cupcakes to take to Papaw & MeMe Fogg's Fall Festival at their home(a church activity) Saturday night!! They are having a cake walk and Claire is so excited!! =) That girl LOVES cake!! =)

So, to go in the BOO bags are Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies (these are GREAT cold!!), Cream Cheese Pumpkin Muffins, Cupcakes & Frosted Sugar Cookies (Martha Stewart's recipe)!! We are having SO much FUN!!
