funnies...

(And, I wanted to post another picture but I found this one of Claire & Lily and I was just amazed at how much Lily looks like Drew!!! What do you think?) :)

*Wednesday at the insurance office, the lady was singing "twinkle, twinkle, little star" to Lily. Lily said, "Shhh! my sing." and started singing! She is very particular about singing. She thinks SHE is the best singer ever & mama thinks she is right (Claire is too!). :)

*Claire said that Mama is sick and is now putting address labels all over my arm. She says they are band-aids. ;) It's gonna hurt pulling those suckers off!

*Claire put her ponytail holders on her ankles and said, "Mama, my ankles need bracelets, too. They are very musical." (What? does that mean?) :)

*Lily telling me she is "too tired" when she doesn't want to go to sleep! lol. :) Exactly why you need to go to sleep sweet girl!

*Claire saying, "Daddy, I am going to marry you." Charlie said, "Why do you want to marry Daddy, baby?" Claire said, "You are cute (wonder where she heard that one?) and I am cute, so we can get married" Daddy says, "What about Mama?" Claire then said, "Well, she can cook for us". :) Gee thanks!! I get to be the maid!! HOW funny is that?! :)

*Fixing sweet potatoes for supper the other night and Claire said, "Where's the ugly potatoes?" Because if she is being bad, we tell her it is "being ugly " and if she is being good, we tell her she is "being sweet". So cute!

Well, I just thought I would share these! My kids say such cute things all of the time and I just forget to write them down. So, I am recording them here today. :)

Happy Friday!!

Wow!!! =)

Look what Charlie said we are getting in July(this is a picture of what it looks like and the exact size)!!! We NEVER buy anything special like this and I am SO excited!!!! I can't wait to have pool parties for the kids and family and church family over to swim and grill!! (Well, I WANT to have pool parties but I am not really good at that stuff and I am almost 8 months pregnant so maybe next year?) Anyway, this will be loads of fun and really cool for me in the hot July/August heat!! It has reached 110 in August before & Sometimes it has been hotter!!! That would NOT be fun being 9 months pregnant and ready to pop!!!

Well, here it is and I must say, I can't wait!! I am VERY excited!! Can you tell?! :o)

Okay, so I am back to my blogging break now!!! Wow, I so hope that everything will work out and we can get this!!! What fun it will be!!!

*By the way, this is not that expensive; it is around $250 at Sam's Club if anyone wants to buy one for their family!

Just a whole lot of randomness

*(This was written on Friday night not Saturday; so I am seeing them today!) Tomorrow I get to see my little sister, my brother-in-law, and Kylie, Alaina & little Jason. Jack has been here for almost a week now and he's been a blast to have around! :o) And, Charlie's side of the family is having a cook out tomorrow night. Looking forward to that & the girls playing with the cousins. :o)

Claire has a severe sore throat and I am starting to feel the same way. Claire began running fever today while we were on a shopping trip with my Mom and so right now she is in the bed recuperating and feeling pretty miserable. I hope that we don't have strep throat. Please pray that it isn't that and if it is that we will recover soon. Strep is also very dangerous for pregnant women. Lily feels fine, so far, but if sissy has it, she will get it, too.

Charlie is feeling better, for now. I hope he continues to feel better. :o) Work has been stressful lately but he is handling it very well.

We are off to church camp starting Sunday. It's family camp and we are really excited to see familiar faces and meet new ones again this year. I will have to dedicate an entire post to church camp sometime this week or next. Promise.

Went shopping with my Mom today. It was a LONG trip (1 & 1/2 hr. drive). We bought things for church camp and I got some maternity jeans for $8 and a pair of capris for $7. I also got a nice t-shirt for $8 and some cute flip-flops! :o) I found some tank tops and sundresses for the girls at around $4 a piece. What a great shopping day!!! :o) All at my favorite store, TARGET!!! YAY!! Can you tell that shopping makes me happy?!

We ate lunch at Cracker Barrel; love that place. :o) My chef salad was great, as usual but just not the same with no tomatoes. Ah, well.

I did miss out on ice cream at Coldstone Creamery. We meant to stop but the kids were so tired and Claire felt bad so we just drove on home. Maybe next time. Seriously, you need to try their ice cream. Oh, so good....

I also did not get to go to Bath & Body works (they are having a HUGE sale right now; 3 bubble baths for $10) I SO wanted to go but alas, the kids did not feel well, so, no go. Maybe soon.

But, I had fun anyway and I got out of the house for awhile. I really needed that. I found some oh, so cute, cupcake things at Cracker Barrel and I am going to start saving up! If anyone wants to buy me anything, there you go!!! LOL. I am just joking. :o)

Well, off to bed to read my bible and pray and talk with my husband. I am not trying to sound all super spiritual, either. That's what we have REALLY been trying to do lately!

*one more thing; Drew now keeps his feet in my rib cage and my belly button popped today!!! :o) Hard to breathe now and impossible to bend over, haha.

Love,
Julie

"I'm cooking the cat!!!"

This is Claire's new favorite book! She LOVES to read it and then pretend to make cupcakes! :o) Actually, she has talked Daddy & Mama into letting her make cupcakes a couple of times!!! She is SO much fun!!! Her favorite phrase now that she says repeatedly all day long is, "I'm cooking the cat!" "Mama, look, I'm cooking the cat!!"

What a cutie-pie! I just had to share this little bit of my precious Claire!!!
And, she had a special date with Daddy last night to get an ice cream sundae! She got all her stickers for using the potty!!! Yay!!!! She's working really hard for some more right now!!! That's my girl!!! :o)

Yummy, Buttermilk pancakes!

Claire helped me make these pancakes for breakfast this morning! (not my picture because I still don't have a new digital but that's okay because we are trying to follow Dave Ramsey's plan and that definitely does not qualify as an emergency! So, maybe I will get it soon.) Anyway, these are so yummy and easy! I make the whole batch and freeze the rest for the rest of the week! Easy! So, try these and tell me what you think. They are incredibly fluffy and yummy!

Blessings on your Wednesday,

Things I have learned living in Texas...

Well, I don't exactly live IN Texas but might as well. In about 20 minutes you are at the Texas State line. My Dad's family is from Texas and other parts of the deep South. We are so close to Texas that everything in this list applies to where we live, as well. Enjoy this as much as I did! :o)

1. A possum is a flat animal that sleeps in the middle of the road.

2. There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 of them live in Texas .

3. There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 of them live inTexas, plus a couple no one's seen before.

4. If it grows, it'll stick ya. If it crawls, it'll bite cha.

5. 'Onced' and 'Twiced' are words.

6. It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy!

7. 'Jawl-P?' means 'Did ya'll go to the bathroom?'

8. People actually grow and eat okra.

9. 'Fixinto' is one word.

10. There is no such thing as 'dinner'. There is breakfast, lunch and supper.

11. Iced tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're two. We do like a little tea with our sugar.

12. Backwards and forwards means 'I know everything about you.'

13. The word 'jeet' is actually a phrase meaning 'Did you eat?'

14. You don't have to wear a watch, because it doesn't matter what time it is, you work until you're done or it's too dark to see.

Miss Lily is on the very end. She is sitting with Claire and all of their girl cousins on my side of the family. (Plus Jason). lol. Thanks, Aunt Crystal, for taking this picture! Happy Birthday tomorrow, by the way! Love ya! (Claire on one end, Lily on the other).

Click here to read more about Miss Lily!!!!

To our :Adorable, Spunky, feisty, cuddle-bug, sweetie-cutie-pie, gorgeous, precarious, outgoing, funny, loveable, precious, huggable, Miss Lily!!!

Lily-Frank, Lil-bear, Lily Short Legs,

Every morning you wake up ready to face the world. You make me smile so many times throughout the day just by looking at me and giving me your crooked little grin. You follow your big sister everywhere and you do not like to be without her!

You are very kind and so very generous with hugs and kisses. You say, "Oh......." when you give loves. I love to watch you and Sissy lay in the floor and cuddle and watch TV or read books.

I love to hear you sing your heart out with me when I sing to you at night. So sweet to hold your chubby little hands in mine and listen to you giggle when I kiss them. You are, my precious daughter, a delight to raise, a true blessed gift from God. Our prayer is that you will follow the ways of the Lord all the days of your life.

Happy 1st Birthday, Lily Charlotte! We love you SO VERY MUCH!

Day 18 & !9- Husband Encouragement Challenge

Day 18-

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." (Proverbs 9:10)

Are you a wise woman? Do you open your mouth with wisdom, as Proverbs 31:26 suggests? As you continue in your 30-day challenge, remember that a wise woman encourages her husband.
Is your husband a "wise man?" Does he have a godly perspective that comes from knowing God and walking with Him in obedience? Does he have a sense of purpose for his life and vision for your home? Tell him how much this means to you.

If you are not sure about your husband's vision for your home, ask him, "Honey, what do you want to accomplish with our marriage and home in the years to come?" and "How can I help you accomplish that?"

If he does not have a vision, your questions may inspire him to develop one.
If your husband is not walking with God--or perhaps, does not know the Lord--you have the opportunity and responsibility to practice your faith and create a thirst for God. Thank God for giving your husband a place in his heart that only He can fill, and keep praying that he will turn to the Lord to fill that vacuum!

*We worked on this and prayed about his vision for our family the other night! Charlie has such wonderful plans and hopes for all of us and he works so hard that we can accomplish them. He is very encouraging to me and the girls. He wants first of all to see our family grow in the Lord and that is his No. 1 priority. It is a blessing to be his wife!

Day 19-

"You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!" (Psalm 16:11a; 144:15b)

"A merry heart does good, like medicine." (Proverbs 17:22a)

It's hard to criticize others when we are enjoying their company. Instead of speaking negatively to your husband today, enjoy him! Encourage him! As you experience fullness of joy with God, share some of that joy with your husband.

Does your husband have a playful side? A great sense of humor? Is there a "little boy" that wants to escape from time to time, reflecting the joy in his heart?

This is a wonderful part of who he is, and a great strength. Let him know that you appreciate his joyfulness and his playful spirit. Find opportunities to join him in positive play times.

If your husband can sometimes be overly serious, coax him out occasionally for some play times. It will help him relieve stress and relax.

*Charlie is so great at making me laugh! He is the funniest person I know ! He is always making up these silly songs and calling me silly pet names and doing hilarious things for me and the girls. I love him so much and his lightheartedness and comic relief makes everything so much more bearable when life is rough. He is my rock but he is also my favorite comedian! Love you, babe.
If we don't find Him in the small things, how will we ever find Him in the big ones? ~Elisabeth Elliot
