Snow day!!!!!!!!

Snow is very rare here so this was an unexpected wonderful treat!! We did the best we could to exhaust ourselves in the snow! The pitiful snowman was in our front yard and the snow had already started melting when we started building but still had fun, anyway! I will try to post more pictures of snow ice cream later today...I have an Italian Cream Cake to make for a special wedding tomorrow and I have to get started!!!

Blogger is not uploading all of my pictures...it says it does but then they don't show up???? Anyway, I will try again later!!!

memories made..

Just writing this for our online journal (no pictures, sorry, I left the camera in the car) :(

Kids, this morning your Dad woke up and decided that we would go to Beaver's Bend for a picnic lunch, to play on the slides and swings and to take a nature walk. Dad made deviled eggs, sweet tea and we stopped at Pruett's for some fried chicken and salad fixings. We also took our peanut butter brownies from last night. All of you really seemed to enjoy the lunch and thought that was the greatest! Then, Daddy took you to swing and slide and you just went over and over again, upside down on the slide and swinging as fast as you could go while Drew watched you and giggled!! Then, we walked through the nature center and down to the creek where you took off your shoes and socks and splashed in the water, Lily sat completely down and got soaked!!

We then drove around and looked at Mike and Renee's cabin and other pretty cabins up there. We had a lot of fun and Daddy decided that Mama and Daddy need to book a cabin and stay for the night without you!! Mama loves you dearly, kids, but that is something I am really looking forward to!! Time alone with your wonderful Dad. :)

What a wonderful day we had and I will forever keep these memories close to my heart. Maybe by writing it down, I can help you do the same. Next time we do this and Daddy promised it will be soon, I will make sure to get the camera out of the car and take LOTS of pictures...

Thank you, God, for wonderful gorgeous Fall days and warm memories made.

SO exciting!!....

I just found out my early Valentine's present!! I am getting fresh highlights and a pedicure tonight and whatever else I need done!!! Charlie told me he is watching the kids so I can go and do this; WOW!!!! My sister(she is a beautician(is that the word?) is going to do it for me and I love the way she does my hair. It's been awhile since we have done pedicures but she used to do a great job! lol.

I am so proud of my sisters. Tammy is doing so well in beauty school and it's just nice to see her so happy. It's amazing how smart she is and how good she is at what she does. I will have to take pictures of my hair and show it off. I am so looking forward to being together and laughing and just being sisters. :) Crystal, my other sister, blows me away with the wonderful job she is doing as a wife and homeschooling mom. She is amazing and such an inspiration to me. I can't wait until I get to go up and spend some time with her and the fam! :) LOVE YOU,BOTH!!!!!

My husband is just blowing me away this week. Last night he brought home a rose bush for me(I would rather plant them outside and enjoy them all spring and summer than to watch them die within days) and a new muffin tin (I needed this SO bad) and some heart shaped Reese's cups (my fave) and a little bear that says "Hug me". :) Today, he told me about this!!! And, tomorrow we are eating a wonderful supper cooked by him and watching a movie after the kids are in bed, YAY!!!

What am I doing for him, you ask? Well, he got a new nail gun (he's been wanting forever) and I wrote him a long romantic letter and he has been going to the chiropractor and getting adjustments. Also, a few other things that I am not talking about!!! :) lol.

Anyway, I LOVE him so much and he is just so amazing as a husband and a father. He is becoming such a wonderful man after God's heart and I am SO SO SO proud of my baby!!

Hope ya'll have a wonderful Valentine's Day & weekend!!!

Love,
Julie

You've been Boo'd....Part 2

The phantom ghost has come to town,
To leave you some goodies, I see you have found.
His wish is for participation for all,
so continue this greeting, the "phantom" call.
Make 2 treats, 2 phantom's and 2 notes like this.
Deliver them to neighbors who may have been missed.
Don't let them see you, be sneaky, be quick.
Your neighbors are sure to enjoy this Halloween trick!
Post this Phantom Ghost where it can be seen,
And leave it on a window or door until Halloween.
This will scare other phantoms who may wish to visit.
We want to spread the treats so all will get it.
You have only one day to act - so be quick!
Leave them at doors where the Phantom hasn't hit.
Deliver at dark when there is no light......
Ring the doorbell and run out of sight!
And last, but not least, come join the season,
It's all to be neighborly and no other reason.
Be cool, have fun, and remember don't be seen........
Let's share in the fun of Halloween!

Some more ideas for boo'ing!! Click here to view the M&M's website with cute BOO signs & poems that you can print out! They also have some fun recipes that would work well. Also, I thought about making these to go along with the cookies! or just these,They are super yummy and easy! =)

And, my sister mailed me some really cute scarecrows that we colored, cut out & pasted together! I need to post pictures and I will try to do that soon! That was a lot of fun & the girls loved it! Why not make some and put them in your BOO bags? The kids will love to do it & the grandparents and family, especially, will love to get artwork from your child! How fun! =)

Claire & Lily's new favorite movie...

They watch this every day! I LOVE the play on Tom Sawyer & Huck Finn! It's such a good wholesome movie. Charlie & I are HUGE VeggieTales fans, ourselves! We are going to purchase this one for the girls this month (instead of a bunch of candy) and we are going to share it with our bible study group at church (we have about 12-15 little kids at church on Sunday) and I think this would be great for a movie night! We already took the kids to see it at the theatre when it came out and they all loved it so I know a movie night would go over well! =)

Just wanted to share these great movies and ask you, "What are your kids favorite movies?"

Have a great weekend!

Julie
